It is well-established that Serena Williams absolutely nails a photoshoot (see: her recent campaign for Stuart Weitzman), and her latest Instagram post further demonstrates her modelling prowess. Williams shared a gorgeous photograph in which she poses in a shaft of light on a staircase, wearing a sheer, red, feather-trimmed robe over a deeper red mini dress and completing the look with crimson velvet heels. The sporting legend wore her hair blonde and loosely curled, with a smoky eye and a soft nude lip. Breathtaking!
Williams also shared a video from the photoshoot, in which she descends the stairs in slow motion before posing for some shots, a wind machine elevating her hair and robe. She tagged her glam team in the post, hair stylist Angela Meadows and makeup artist Natasha Gross, as well as visual architect Kesha McLeod and photographer Ronald Wayne. And in the caption? Williams tagged Chrissy Teigen, a fellow robe enthusiast.
Speaking of Williams family fashion: Husband Alexis Ohanian recently wore a superlative t-shirt to support his wife at the Australian Open. Watching Williams play (and ultimately defeat) Simona Halep, Ohanian wore a t-shirt reading “GREATEST FEMALE ATHLETE,” with the modifier “FEMALE” correctly crossed out.
While the t-shirt needs no context to be completely and inarguably accurate, Tom Brady’s seventh Super Bowl win recently reawakened a social media debate on which sportsperson deserves the title of GOAT. The answer, of course, is not Brady but Williams, who has a total of 39 Grand Slam titles under her belt. And Ohanian’s t-shirt served as a very timely reminder!
Serena Williams Gets All Dolled Up At Home in a Glittering Minidress & Sharp Stilettos
Serena Williams showed off her glam side from the comfort of her own home, getting ready for girls’ night in style.
Hopping up on her bathroom counter to top off her makeup, the tennis pro took to Instagram this afternoon to show off her bold attire. The center of the look came in the form of a glittering black minidress complete with a long-sleeve silhouette and a sequin-coated finish.

To bring the look to new heights, Williams then slipped on a towering set of stilettos with a recognizable outsole. The red-bottom heels, courtesy of Christian Louboutin, highlight a sharply pointed-toe silhouette with a curved vamp and a teetering height.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion is no stranger to wow-worthy pieces. Just yesterday, for example, Williams broke out a floral catsuit from Richard Quinn and Moncler’s collaboration as she displayed how she does “winters in Florida.” The piece came matched to block-heeled combat boots from Stuart Weitzman, a brand the athlete serves as an ambassador and model for.
In May of 2020, Williams officially signed on as the newest global spokeswoman for Stuart Weitzman, starring in the brand’s spring and summer ’20 ad campaign. She has since appeared in shoots for its fall ’20 collection and, most recently, its spring ’21 campaign with her daughter, Olympia.
Williams has also been a Nike athlete since 2003 and has released a number of collaborative projects with the brand over the years. In 2019, the two powerhouses announced that they were looking for emerging designers to help create a Williams-inspired shoe and apparel collection for 2020. She also created her own namesake apparel and accessories brand in 2018 and has since debuted capsules during New York Fashion Week.
‘If Body Ody Was a Person’: Serena Williams Brings Spring Vibes While Flaunting Her Curvy Body
Serena Williams does not only bring the heat on the tennis court, but apparently she does so with her fashion as well. In her March 11 photo posted to social media, she is wearing a long-sleeved body-hugging jumpsuit that is covered in daisies. Paired with the jumpsuit, she wore black combat boots as she stood outside in front of a pile of logs.
“How we do winters in Florida,” she wrote. The current Miami resident seemed confident that she looked great in her outfit because she wrote “The temperature just went up 🔥 🔥 🔥,” in the comments section.
Fans agreed that she looked amazing in her one-piece. One person said, “HONEYYYYY IT’S A WHOLE MOMENT.” Another person wrote that they were, “Soooo obsessed with this look!!!❤️❤️❤️”
Many even dubbed her “Flower Power,” and someone else said this is what it would look like “🔥🔥🔥 If bodyody was a person 😍.”
One thing about Williams is she does not play about her fashion. In a 2017 Vogue interview, she talked more about her love for fashion. “For me there was only one thing I connected to the way I’ve connected to tennis, and that’s been fashion. If you give me a garment, I can tell you what the fabric is, how it’s made, why something can or can’t be done because of the draping, et cetera. Who knows? Maybe I would have won more Grand Slams if I had been 100 percent tennis.”
Williams even has a clothing line, which she named after herself and launched in May 2018. During that time, the 23-time Grand Slam winner revealed that fashion wasn’t something that she randomly became interested in. In an interview with Essence, she shared that fashion was something she took seriously. She also said, “I went to fashion school back in the early 2000s,” and she attended The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Serena Williams’ Hubby Defends Her Against ‘Racist’ Tennis Star
If you’re a fan of tennis, then it’s very likely that you’re also a fan of Serena Williams. Frankly, she’s so skilled at what she does that her impact goes way beyond her own game. That’s why, in 2016, The Guardian deemed her to be “the greatest sportsperson ever,” backing that up by noting that “[s]he’s overcome adversity to win all the major prizes in tennis, and been way ahead at the top of the game for two decades.” Indeed, the outlet noted that she’s in the league of elite athletic greats such as “Muhammad Ali, Diego Maradona, Pelé, Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt, Jack Nicklaus, Sir Donald Bradman, [and] Roger Federer.”
The sports experts over at ESPN agree, pointing out that when you’re discussing the best of the best, finding Williams’ name on the list is a given. “Of course Jackie Robinson is recognized as one of the great profiles in courage,” the outlet asserts. “Of course Henry Aaron is revered as baseball royalty. Of course Serena Williams is accepted as the greatest tennis champion of her time.”
That’s why it’s downright ridiculous when anyone tries to diminish what Williams has done or what she’s capable of. And although she can (and does) defend herself against others’ baseless opinions, her husband, Alexis Ohanian Sr., is also fully willing and able to stick up for his wife. That’s just what he did when one particular person went after Williams.
Those who are thinking about criticizing Serena Williams regarding her tennis skills might want to keep their opinion to themselves. That’s because they might be taken down by none other than Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian Sr.
